I worked in Adobe Photoshop for the entire build. The shape and lasso tools let me create and adjust each element. I used layers to keep pieces organized and applied layer masks to test different backgrounds without losing work. I also used the align and distribute features to make sure spacing stayed consistent. Exporting to JPG at the right size took a few tries. The first export looked blurry, so I changed the resolution to 300 dpi to keep the edges sharp. The main challenge was understanding Photoshop’s layer system and shortcuts. At first I could not figure out how to select and move single items without shifting the whole design. After watching a short tutorial and checking the course notes, I learned to lock background layers and use the move tool with auto-select turned off. That solved the issue and saved a lot of time. The pictures that I used are from pinterest, I liked picture images from there because I tend to get better quality and better resolutions from those pictures rather than saving pictures from google. I tend to make more edits to this picture to make it more engaging and overall just look better. Overall this draft helped me learn key Photoshop tools and how design principles work in practice. Starting with sketches and moving to digital layers gave me a clear path from idea to final file. It was hard at first, but finishing the poster gave me a better understanding of how to plan and build a clean, balanced layout. I’m going to research more on how I can make the transitions from images better, make the layers look good with the images that I layer it with, and just add goo saturation and contrast to the image to give it that pop.
