Idea and Inspiration
I decided to make a short video about my cat Calvin. He is mean at times, but he also wants attention and acts like he owns my room. This fits my topic because it shows real daily life and gives people a quick look at his personality. Calvin has a mix of cute moments and annoying habits, so he gives me a clear character to build a story around.
Design Process
I kept the story simple. I open with a quick intro to show who Calvin is. I used ideas from the readings like keeping a strong focus in each shot and using steady pacing so the viewer follows the story. I looked at basic pet videos to see how creators use close up shots, natural sound, and short edits to keep things moving. Most of my footage shows him in my bed or chilling around the room. These clips show how he can be rude and sweet at the same time.
I followed my storyboard while I planned the order of each clip. I went from introducing him, to showing his behavior, to ending on the calmer moments. I kept the edits clean so it feels natural, not staged.
Technical Detail
I recorded the footage on my phone and moved everything into Adobe Premiere. I trimmed clips, adjusted sound, and added simple transitions. I used the razor tool, basic color correction, and scale controls to get the shots lined up. I kept a close eye on the timing so it stays in the required length. One problem I had was the footage not fitting the frame after export. I fixed it by matching sequence settings and adjusting the export format so it filled the screen.
